A holiday at the Rieplechn farm in Ahornach
Our farm with live-stock is situated in a tranquil location, surrounded by fields and forests.
The Rieplechn farm can be found in Ahornach at 1.200 m above sea-level, and there is the promise of abundant sunshine on its sloping southern side. Staying with us, you will discover relaxation in a rural atmosphere, a change for the whole family and incomparable experiences in the world of nature, away from the hustle and bustle and noise. You will be able to leave the day to day problems behind and replenish your energy.
You will be able to enjoy a glorious view of the Kronplatz with the Dolomites in the background and of the immense mountains of the Zillertal Alps. Besides, you can enjoy the view of the 3.369 m high Schwarzenstein Mountain. Whether in summer or winter, it forms the perfect setting for an accomplished photo of the Rieplechn farm. The Speikboden ski area is situated on the opposite side of the valley.
There is also the possibility of simply leaving the car behind and going on different hikes from the Rieplechn farm, like, for example, to our Alpine huts in picturesque Pojental, to the Taufer Castle, or on the Steiner Holm or Grossen Moosstock mountains.
Our farm is a paradise for children. Stroking hares and goats, feeding young calves, watching the chickens scrabbling around, building a tree house, letting off steam in the new playground and still much more make holidays at Rieplechn farm an unforgettable experience.
Of course, the Feichter family will also spoil you with homemade products: fruit spreads and syrups and fresh eggs. And you can use the bread service. Rolls, which you may choose yourself, are delivered fresh from a baker every morning except Sundays and public holidays. And if you don't feel like cooking yourself, the pizza will be delivered directly to your apartment by a pizza delivery service.
A charging station for environmentally friendly refueling is available for your electric car. The electricity for this comes from our photovoltaic system, which also covers the electricity for our entire farm.
History
The first documented evidence of the Rieplechn farm was in the 15th century. The farm has been sold several times. We are the third generation to be in possessionof theentailed estate under the family name “Feichter”.
The farm name “Rieplechn” originates from “Riepe” and means rock or cliff, stony field, barren landscape. When the farm was built in 1577, stones had to be removed by hand from the field, in order to prepare a piece of agricultural land.
The stones that were gathered were brought to the edge of the field, with the result that over the course of generations the entire farm would become enclosed by a dry stone wall. These dry stone walls are, first and foremost, essential to animal and insect life. Lizards, spiders and other reptiles are able to hide away in the crevices and cavities and many birds build their birds nests in there, ensuring new offspring and survival.
